Happy “Engage-aversary”

Josh and I got engaged two years ago today! It has been a blessed couple years with lots of changes–a new city, a new job, a new name, a new house, a new four-legged buddy.

J and I are so different in so many ways. I’m a type 2 and he’s and 8 on the enneagram scale, if that tells you anything. Many of his strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa. As an empath, it’s been hard for me sometimes to take his “truth-speaking” personality. But, his willingness to listen to my concerns, and put action to changing them, is something that I can’t get over. I’m thankful for a teammate that isn’t perfect, but willing. Because sometimes willingness is all you need.

In honor of this day, I wanted to share our amazing engagement photos from Banff, Canada. We had an amazing husband and wife duo photograph us in one of the most breath-taking spots on the planet. Terry Photo Co. This place is the stuff bucket lists are made of. We were so lucky to have generous in-laws/parents to give us these photos.

Funny story…due to some crazy circumstances, they almost didn’t happen. We showed up at the mouth of Lake Louise, a stunning shot that you’ll see in most of the photos. We were waiting to meet our photographer at the sign. The clock kept ticking, and we wondered if we were in the right spot. Come to find out, they CLOSED THE LOT in front of the lake because it was full. Our photographer was just outside the gate, but they were making several cars in front of her turn around. Serendipitously, the guard at the gate was Aussie…and guess what, so was our photographer. They bonded on this ex-pat common ground, and after some begging, he let her in. We had an awesome session, I think was just prepping us for “things won’t be perfect” category that we became so familiar with at our wedding. I could write a-whole-nother post about that! Haha!

I hope you enjoy the amazing backdrop and admire the talent that is Terry Photo Co. If you are ever in the Calgary area and need photos, I highly recommend this rockstar team.

b. loved,
